We are proud to recognize Andrew Orten as our Employee of the Quarter! With 11 years of dedicated service, Andrew has played a crucial role in advancing the capabilities of our Water District through his work as a GIS Technician.
Andrew’s day-to-day responsibilities involve building and maintaining GIS databases, analyzing spatial data, and resolving system issues to support operations. His expertise helps streamline workflows by collecting, compiling, and integrating essential GIS data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the district.
Among his many contributions, Andrew is especially proud of being a key team member in implementing Esri software and ArcGIS Enterprise—a significant leap forward in our mapping technology. This initiative has had a lasting impact on how we manage and visualize our infrastructure.
What truly drives Andrew is the long-term value of his work. “The creation and editing of maps for our company is something that will stand the test of time,” he says. “The future of the Water District needs to know where all our assets are in the ground!”
Inspired by his faith and family, Andrew consistently brings heart and commitment to everything he does. Whether he is participating in a charity event or piloting a drone to capture field footage, he finds joy in highlighting the essential work we do for the community.
When asked who he would trade jobs with for a day, Andrew chose his father, a touching tribute to the strength and care his dad provides every day. “It would be a way to honor the quiet strength and care he brings to the family,” Andrew shared.
Thank you, Andrew, for your passion, innovation, and unwavering dedication. Your work truly helps shape the future of our Water District!
