Hardin County Water District No. 2 offers education programs to build awareness of important water issues. By teaching children about local water resources, these programs instill a knowledge and appreciation of this natural resource while fostering an understanding of the need to protect our environment and use water wisely.

It is our privilege to partner in a variety of programs with Hardin County Schools and Elizabethtown Independent School Systems.

It is HCWD2’s mission is to continue to produce and distribute quality water-related materials that educate, motivate, engage, and transform students’ behavior toward water.

Tours and Events

As part of its comprehensive water education program, HCWD2 hosts interactive tours of our facilities and participates in several community events. To enhance the public’s awareness of water-related issues, Hardin County Water District No. 2 provides informational presentations. These presentations provide a public service to the community and help establish open communication between the District and local schools and organizations.

Hydration Campaign

This fall, we are scheduled to kick off a brand-new program revolving around the importance of hydration. This program will encourage students to drink the desired amount of water to keep their bodies healthy and full of energy. The teachers and District will work together to make incentives and help develop a healthy long-term habit of staying hydrated.
