Hardin County County is experiencing rapid growth. Recently, a major manufacturing plant has been built in the region: the new Blue Oval SK (BOSK) Battery Plant in Hardin County. Because of this growth, the local water supply system needs to be upgraded and strengthened to meet the increasing demand.
To address this, the water district is proposing the construction of several key infrastructure improvements. These include 6.4 miles of 30-inch transmission pipeline, 8.6 miles of 24-inch transmission pipeline, and a pump station capable of handling up to 10 million gallons of water per day. These new transmission lines will create a second connection with the Louisville Water Company, which will increase the overall water supply for the county.
The water district has already hired an engineering firm to start the planning and design process for these important upgrades. Construction on these new facilities is expected to begin within the next 2 to 3 years, helping ensure that the water system can support the continued growth and development of the region.
