As part of the efforts to improve the water system, the water district is making upgrades to two important pump stations in addition to building the new Hydration Water Storage Tank. These improvements are designed to better meet the demands of the service area and ensure reliable water delivery to customers.
The Colesburg Pump Station will be receiving additional pumps, which will boost its pumping capacity to 10 million gallons of water per day (MGD). This increase in capacity will help meet the growing needs of the area. In addition to the new pumps, an on-site standby generator will be installed at the Colesburg Pump Station. This generator will ensure that the station can continue operating during power outages or other emergencies, providing an added layer of reliability.
At the Springfield Pump Station, an additional pump will also be installed. This new pump will help fill the newly constructed Hydration Water Storage Tank, which is part of the overall plan to improve the water supply and distribution system.
The project has been awarded to Schroeder Construction, which will be handling the modifications to both pump stations. Work on these upgrades is expected to begin in early to mid-2025, helping to further strengthen the region’s water infrastructure.
